Isa's Hawaiian party for her 5th birthday was Saturday. What great fun for a sweet and fun-loving bunch of girls and boys. The party began with putting on grass skirts, leis, and flowers in their hair. Well, the girls, at least. Isa's good buddy, Brazen, had told his mom that he wasn't really looking forward to the party because he was afraid he'd be told to wear a grass skirt!
Then they all took turns at 2 tables that were set up with filling a small plastic bottle necklace with colored sand layers and decorating a colorfoam flip-flop.
Then the tables were cleared for strawberry-banana smoothies and Hawaiian pizza. The adults enjoyed pulled-pork sandwiches.

The kids then played limbo until it was time to open presents. After presents, it was time for cake. Eli Garcia once again outdid herself with making Isa's cake (the smoothie stand) and mini cupcakes! Isa got a kick out of eating a tiny smoothie cup!

Isa's arm out is to hold back her 2 year old cousin, Charlotte, from blowing out a candle again before Isa does!
Maybe I should have taken a couple more pictures of the "after-the-party" look of peices of grass skirts and wrapping paper everywhere, and the adults slumped in their chairs...
