Isa turned 4 and a half on the 19th and made sure everyone she saw that day knew of her "half-birthday". When her mama and her Aunt Jen were growing up we always celebrated half birthdays because their actual birthdays were so close to Christmas. Each daughter would receive one gift and get to choose a restaurant for a birthday dinner. I was reminded of this again yesterday when I heard that Woody's restaurant announced that they were closing. How sad! Many a Birthday Dinner was spent at Woody's since they would bring a special straw hat with a balloon attached for the birthday girl to wear, (Actually, Mike and I wore a few of them on our days also!) while they sang "Happy Birthday".And now for the latest Isa-isms:
1. (Isa and Jill are sitting out in a parking lot when a man with a turban wrapped on his head walks by the car...). Isa, following him intently with her eyes: "What?... Is it?... YES! IT IS!! Mama, a real genie just walked by the car!!!!"
2. (Riding in the car on the way to Costco) Isa: "Grandma, I'm pretending that I'm Jill and Cade is Grandpa." (Speaking as Jill, now) "Marcus bought me a Super Mario Brothers and I'm pregnant." Do those go together??
3. (Riding in the car on the way home from Costco) Isa: "Grandma, a long time ago, did God just make people or did they get pregnant first?" Whew! I'm glad God included the parts about Adam and Eve in the bible! Jill was always the one growing up who asked the straight-from-the-hip questions. I think she better be prepared with Isa!!
I love this little girl!!
